Orangery Flat Roof

Orangery Flat Roof

For new build and refurbishments

The span is a high-end flat roof solution that is popular for creating beautiful orangeries with a central lantern or skylight. It is built around a warm roof construction to cause the least amount of disruption, a pre-assembled concept that has made our roofs so popular.

Orangery Flat Roof

Solid by name and by nature
Orangery Flat Roofs combine traditional roofing materials with clever design solutions to create a lightweight, efficient product that can be used for replacement or new extensions. Performance: U-Value: 0.17 ( o.15)– fall: 1:40 (approx. 0.7 degree) to ensure water drainage as per BS6229 requirements.

Energy Efficient

Thermal Insulation

The Orangery Flat Roof has a thermal insulation layer between the ceiling joists, so everything above the insulation (any roof space) is colder than the living space below it. To avoid condensation, a span is built with well-ventilated empty spaces (just like a traditional roof). We ensure that the “cold” from the roof is kept well away from the room by using 155mm EPS insulation.

No. A roof is only marginally heavier than a glass roof. As per LABC guidelines (April 2016), if the structure shows no signs of distress, the existing foundations are likely to be adequate to carry the small additional loadings. Existing glazing and door support must also be reinforced.

Yes it is estimated you will lose between 5-10 percent of light. You may wish to incorporate one of our premium Velux roof windows with high performance glass to let in extra sunlight.

Very much so, which is why a roof is a fully ventilated system and uses timber that is both strong and has low thermal conductivity.

Recent testing proved a 6.4m x 6.4m roof could carry the weight of four modern Mini cars without showing any signs of movement.
